REVIEW OF THE ATTORNEYS’ AND NOTARIES’ EMPLOYEES REMUNERATION ORDER (REGULATIONS - 1994) BY THE NATIONAL REMUNERATION BOARD

The National Remuneration Board, by virtue of the Employment Relations Act 2008, is set to make recommendations to the Ministry of Labour, Industrial Relations and Employment, regarding the regulations for Attorneys’ and Notaries’ Employees Remuneration.

The current Remuneration Order has been in practice since 1994. The order covers namely those employed as clerks and typists. The recommendations for the new Remuneration Order should concern normal and extra working hours, the notional calculation of basic rates, leaves (sick, vacation, maternity etc), meal and other allowances and the payment of various grants (death etc).

The recommendations should be made available to stakeholders and to the public as from Tuesday, 09 February. The NRB will be expecting counter representations until Tuesday, 16 February 2010.
